LHA Code of Conduct
By being present on school property, all students, staff, parents/guardians, volunteers and visitors agree to conduct themselves according to these rules and guidelines for behaviour.

• Living Hope Academy is a place of growth and learning where students have the right to feel safe, secure and supported.
• LHA provides a supportive learning environment where all members of the school community are expected to maintain and encourage a high standard of personal conduct. This includes honesty, discipline and respect for others.
• All children are to be treated with respect, recognizing their right to dignity and reasonable personal privacy.
• All members of the school community are expected not to act in ways that may be abusive or may place a child at risk of abuse.
• If any abuse is suspected, it is the responsibility of the school administration to investigate the situation with urgency.
• All members of the school community should be sensitive to any abusive situations, protecting the child’s identity and not withholding any information from school or government authorities.
• All members of the school community must agree to NOT:

o Condone, or participate in, behavior which is illegal, unsafe or abusive.
o Develop inappropriate relationships or spend excessive time alone with another individual.
o Act in ways intended to shame, humiliate, belittle or degrade an individual.
o Engage in sexually provocative activities of any kind with (including sensual dancing).
o Make, obtain or view pornography of any type.
o Use language, suggest or offer advice which is inappropriate, offensive or abusive.
o Bring items to school premises which can be dangerous or cause a disturbance including but not limited to transistors, pistols (toy or otherwise), knife (big or small), or firecrackers.
o Consume alcoholic drinks, drugs, cigarettes, tobacco products or any other intoxicants.

• Having knowledge regarding the above prohibited activities without reporting it to school authorities will also be considered a serious violation of the Code of Conduct.
